The building dashboard now features a handy comment field that makes communication within a project, e.g. between technical and sales departments, much easier. The idea for this came from a specific customer request – and that's exactly where its usefulness lies: There is a constant need to coordinate service requirements, free network capacities or the prioritisation of expansion areas, where the field can now be used.
Instead of scattering information across different channels, both teams can now store their notes, questions and decisions directly in a central location. This ensures greater transparency, fewer queries and more efficient collaboration in day-to-day business.
The comment field is therefore a small but effective tool for simplifying processes and pooling knowledge where it is needed.

In addition to the pressure conditions in the network nodes, we can now also display the hydraulic network weak point on the map view.
This allows you to see at a glance where the lowest available pressure difference in the network is – i.e. exactly where the hydraulic supply is most critical. This saves time, facilitates evaluation and helps you to identify potential bottlenecks at an early stage and remedy them in a targeted manner.
In the following video, we show you how to make the most of the new feature in your daily work and what advantages it offers you in practice:
With the revised Design Cockpit, you can keep track of all assumptions for your network simulation at all times. Our goal was to offer you maximum flexibility – and that's exactly why we've expanded the interface with numerous new settings options.
Previously, simulations were based exclusively on the underlying dimensioning. Now you can run through alternative scenarios in a matter of seconds and set individual parameters without being bound by fixed specifications. This opens up completely new possibilities for analysis, planning and optimisation.
New assumptions, more control – in the Design Cockpit, the following values, among others, can now be freely configured:
These enhancements enable you to map realistic scenarios and thus understand your network even more precisely.
With the latest update, we have integrated two additional generator classes: combined heat and power plants (CHP) and solar thermal systems. This means that even more diverse generation structures can now be simulated – from classic heat generators to renewable sources.
Another important step is the introduction of electricity-based control. From now on, CHP plants, heat pumps and electric boilers can be operated not only on a heat-based basis, but also on an electricity-based basis. This opens up new perspectives for scenarios in which electricity market prices, self-consumption optimisation or grid restrictions play a central role.
On 15 January, we launched the first Feature Update Live of the year – our new quarterly format that provides concise and practical information about the latest developments in heatbeat Digital Twin. The webinar series summarises the highlights in a practical and interactive way!
The next dates have already been set and registration is now open via the following link: 22 April 2026, 2:00–3:00 p.m.
Every first Wednesday of the month, we present a selected research article from the fields of district heating, district cooling and energy in neighbourhoods. Compact, understandable and straight from the latest research – perfect for staying up to date. Subscribe now at: heatbeat.de/newsletter
